Stress to Strength™ / About

Created by Chantel Spinner

A framework shaped by the space between people and systems.

Stress to Strength™ grew from observing what happens when people are expected to communicate, decide, advocate, and follow through while navigating stress, power, and complex systems.

The origin

Pattern recognition became a framework.

Across maternal health, community health, doula care, advocacy, outreach, human services, and program strategy, the same pattern kept showing up: people were expected to demonstrate clarity, confidence, self-advocacy, and follow-through while navigating environments that were actively increasing their stress.

Stress to Strength™ began as a way to name that tension and build a practical lens for professionals and organizations that want to respond differently.

The central question

What was happening around the person when we asked them to decide, participate, or follow through?

The framework is developing and evidence-informed. It draws from established concepts related to stress, trauma-informed practice, informed consent, health literacy, person-centered care, and community-based practice, while the specific Stress to Strength™ model continues to evolve.

The work today

Speaking, training, organizational learning, and framework development.

Speaking

Conference and professional learning talks that introduce the core lens and create memorable reflection.

Training

Deeper learning focused on application, scenarios, practice, and shared organizational language.

Organizational learning

Facilitated conversations that help teams examine where systems may be creating unnecessary stress or limiting agency.
